Discovery Search Security: Permission-checking

Discovery Search connects to all customer data sources that connect to Shinydocs™ Cognitive Toolkit. For security purposes, however, Discovery Search does not display any schemas that are not permission-checked.

OneDrive items are only returned in search results if a OneDrive index is configured in Discovery Search Microsoft Online Settings. Users will only see owned items returned in search results. Items that are shared with a user will not be returned for that user performing the search.

Results will not display in Discovery Search for the following data sources, as they are not permission-checked:

  • FileNet

  • Documentum
