Add Microsoft Defender exclusions to improve performance

Problem

Migration performance is negatively impacted by Microsoft Defender background processes.

Cause

Microsoft Defender can have significant performance impacts on Windows PCs, particularly on low-spec machines with <= 4gb RAM, <= 2 core CPU, etc.

Solution

Add the following Microsoft Defender exclusions by navigating to Windows Security > Virus and Threat Protection > Manage Settings > Add or remove exclusions:

• Folder – C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\user-led-migration-updater

• Process – C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Programs\user-led-migration\Shinydocs Migration.exe

• Process – C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Programs\user-led-migration\resources\bin\UserLedMigration.exe
