Version 1.5.0

Product: Discovery Server

Version: 1.5.0

Date: November 23, 2020

  • Index Filters: Discovery Search now makes it easy for users to search across all available indexes (category tabs) in a panel on the left side of the display. The default is to search all available indexes, but the user is able to filter the search to a specific index in order to narrow the result set. This feature is configured in the SourceFiltersConfiguration.json file in the [Discovery Server]\Configuration directory of the web / application server. (Ref: CT-1486)

  • Facets: Discovery Search now makes it easy for users to filter their search results set via a faceted search option in a panel on the left side of the display. This familiar model allows users to narrow and refine their searches by types and values that have been defined as Insights in Discovery Search. This feature is configured in the SourceFiltersConfiguration.json file in the [Discovery Server]\Configuration directory of the web / application server. (Ref: CT-1206)

  • Custom Footer Links: Administrators of Discovery Server now have an easy option for specifying short text or hyperlinks in the footer of every page in Discovery Search using standard HTML. This option allows organizations to direct end users to URLs which could be mailboxes for help, or for providing feedback on results returned by Discovery Search. This feature is configured in the FooterTemplate.html file in the [Discovery Server]\Scripts\Templates directory of the web / application server. (Ref: CT-1526)

  • Open Results from File Share via Browser: When an end user performs a Discovery Search and returns results from a File Share, Shinydocs administrators now have the ability to enable a feature that will allow end users to open the files directly, rather than downloading the file or copying to the clipboard. The experience for the end user will be a similar experience to opening the file directly from Windows File Explorer. This feature requires the configuration and deployment of a Shinydocs protocol to any client workstation that requires this functionality. (Ref: CT-1510)

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue when performing an advanced search using autocomplete fields where the field name is incorrect or undefined. (Ref: CT-1491)

  • Bug Fix: Fixed an issue when selecting the “More” button on search results which would erroneously report the following at the top of the results page: “Your search did not match any results. Suggestions: Try different search terms. Ensure that all words are spelled correctly” (Ref: CT-1436)
