Configure Security and Data Loss Prevention Software

Since there are various types of security software available in the Enterprise space, the exact configuration will change product
to product. Here is a list of the files/folders you will need to exclude from your security software to ensure proper usability.

The folders you need to make an exception for (all scans and operations):

  • C:\Program Files\ShinydocsDriver\ShinydocsDriverLibrary-2.0.1\*

  • C:\Program Files\Shinydrive\

  • C:\Program Files\ShinydriveOffice\

  • C:\Program Files\ShinydriveOutlook\

  • C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\shinydrive\*

You may also need to add shinydrive.exe to your Security Software exceptions.

Following the installation of Shinydrive, there will need to be exceptions made in your Group Policies, Data Loss Prevention, and Security Software for the drives you configured in Shinydrive.

Example:
If you set up an E:\ and P:\ drive with Shinydrive, you will need to add those drives to your exceptions list to ensure proper
operation.

No software should attempt to scan Shinydrive. This could lead to unwanted caching and operations in Shinydrive.
