Configuring Advanced Logging
Shinydrive includes a variety of logging capabilities to assist with advanced troubleshooting. Enabling and configuring logging is done per Profile in Shinydrive Admin.
Configuring Logging (Shinydrive 2.5.1 and later)
By default basic Shinydrive logging is enabled.
Shinydrive may generate a large amount of logs from any of the advanced logging options. It is recommended that these options only be enabled for a short period of time.
Log into Shinydrive Admin
Select the DRIVES & PROFILES menu item
In the PROFILES section, select a profile
Click the Advanced Settings link
Scroll down to locate the Logging section
Check one or more of the options in Advanced Logging
Scroll down to the bottom of Advanced Settings and click the Done button
Click the Save button for the profile
To start generating the additional logging, disconnect and then reconnect to the Shinydrive Client
Advanced Logging Options

Enable Driver Logging | Captures detailed information about the Shinydrive driver behaviour |
Log Find Files | Captures detailed information when the Shinydrive Client is retrieving children of a directory |
Log Rest Api | Captures detailed information of commands that are sent from the Shinydrive Client to the Shinydrive Server |
Log Unhandled Exceptions | Captures error details |
Configuring Logging (Shinydrive 2.4.3 and earlier)
Once set to TRUE, Shinydrive may generate a large amount of logs. It is recommended that this key be reset to FALSE after a short period of time.
Shutdown the Shinydrive Client
Open Windows Registry (enter "regedit" in Windows Run)
Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\shinydrive
If it does not exist, create a new STRING key called EnableDriverLogging
Set the value to true
Start the Shinydrive Client
